A new independent tracker maps the LNG, pipeline, power, mining, oil sands, transit and data-centre builds in B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan, with 64 dated milestones ahead.

EDMONTON, Alberta, October 2026

Western Canada Projects today published its October 2026 tracker of 50 major industrial, energy, infrastructure and data-centre projects in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Projects with a disclosed Canadian-dollar cost add up to more than C$194 billion, counting the low end of published ranges and leaving out proponent claims and figures given in U.S. dollars.

The largest disclosed figures are Pacific Link oil pipeline (C$35.2–43.7B, preliminary), LNG Canada Phase 2 (about C$33B, federal estimate), Ksi Lisims LNG (C$30B, plus C$10–12B for the Prince Rupert Gas Transmission line), Site C (C$16B) and Meta's data centre in Sturgeon County (more than C$13B).

LNG Canada Phase 2 took its final investment decision on September 28, 2026 and started early works on October 1. Nine data-centre projects are on the tracker, most of them in Alberta, along with seven power and transmission projects, including BC Hydro's North Coast Transmission Line.

The tracker lists 64 dated milestones, from tenders and contract awards to regulatory deadlines and in-service dates. The full list of projects, a bid calendar, an LNG tracker, a data-centre and power map and an open CSV dataset are free at westerncanadaprojects.com.
